There is an increasing trend among young couples to buy antique platinum engagement rings as they offer a link to the past.
That is according to Jan Kriegsfeld, who specializes in antique and estate jewellery at Jantiques on Antiques Row, kensington.patch.com reports.
She told the news provider: “I sell a lot of engagement rings and it really makes me happy that younger couples are seeking out these rings … It keeps the idea of antiques alive for the next generation.”
Ms Kriegsfeld was commenting on a specific vintage platinum ring from the 1920′s that was recently named the store’s Antique of the Week.
And it appears the trend for vintage is not just filtering into engagement rings.
Diane Hassall, head of design at wedding shoe company Rainbow Club, claims there has been a move for brides to wear 50′s style fashions on their big day.
