Paul McCartney has proposed to his long-term girlfriend Nancy Shevell with a platinum engagement ring.
The musician popped the question to his businesswoman love with an Art Deco ring created by Neil Lane, who revealed that McCartney wanted a ring that was “very special and very rare”, reports People magazine.
Lane told the news provider: “He was very excited and very serious about finding the right one because he wanted something truly exceptional.
“It has a beautiful vintage feel to it. Very romantic, elegant and glamorous but with a bit of cool glitz and rock and roll.”

They became engaged in April, when Prince Philip proposed with a platinum engagement ring made by the London jeweller Philip Antrobus Ltd. (of 6 Old Bond St.) using diamonds from a tiara belonging to Prince Philips mother.
Philip Antrobus also designed and made this bracelet for Prince Philip, which he gave to the then Princess Elizabeth as a wedding present.
