This new collection captures the very essence of the Parisian High Jewellery Maison: extraordinary craftsmanship, stringent criteria for the choice of precious stones, and graceful designs inspired by the harmony of nature.
For over a century, love and nature have been twin sources of inspiration for Van Cleef & Arpels. To celebrate St Valentine’s Day 2011, its master jewellers have created the Nid de Paradis collection. Three pieces (ring, earrings and pendant) display the imaginative, asymmetrical motif of the collection that reflects the spirit of the Maison. A diamond nestling within a spiral is an allegorical element that suggests eternal passion and the desire for protection. This new set with its delicate curves has been made in the Maison’s workshop with all the rigour and perfection that distinguishes High Jewellery.
The Nid de Paradis collection embodies the priceless expertise that has made Van Cleef & Arpels’ reputation. Only diamonds with the highest quality of whiteness, brilliance and clarity were even considered for setting. This level of excellence is the signature of a Van Cleef & Arpels piece.

Borrowing the slender curves of the plumage of the bird of paradise, the Nid de Paradis collection is part of the fairy-tale world of Van Cleef & Arpels. Ever since it was founded, the Maison has drawn its inspiration from idyllic representations of benevolent nature. The bird of paradise, whose brightly coloured feathers enlivened womens’ hats at the start of the XXth century, is a traditional ornamental subject. The Nid de Paradis collection reinvents the motif with an abstract treatment that offers every woman the freedom to personalise this token of fervent love.
