Our Go Global blogger Lauren has landed in tres chic Paris, the city of love. Follow her as she stops by the Lourve and Eiffel Tower and falls head over heels for the beautiful city and all of its charm.
“PARIS”
Bonjour Sportsgirls!
Maybe it’s the delightful sunshine on our faces, the stunning architecture on every street, or the beautiful unfamiliar accents filling our ears but one thing’s for sure: I really do LOVE Paris. I know, what a cliché! But for me, Paris is tres-magnific!

Falling in love with Paris
On our first day in Pariee, Adele, my travel buddy needed a little nap (time-zone crossings and jetlag. Two enemies of any traveller!) so I took off for a stroll around the city.

The River Seine
After passing through the Louvre and spotting the Eiffel Tower on the horizon (squeal!) I thought I’d meander in the direction of the famous sight. Note: The Eiffel Tower is much further away than it looks. But I made it!

The Eiffel Tower, where Adele joined me
After our trip to the Eiffel Tower, we sat down for a lovely deli style dinner where we reflected that yes, the Parisians are some of the most fashionable people on this planet. Simplified dressing and making casual look supremely elegant is what these guys do best. They also know how to use a key accessory to compliment their look as well as help get from A to B; throw in a bicycle or a scooter and your street cred is bound to multiply.
The cool gals also seem to be colour blocking to the max or else sporting perfect pins clad in sorbet and pastel coloured jeans. Maybe they get their inspiration from the pretty coloured macaroons on offer at every patisserie?
Also, French girls really do wear Breton striped tops. Although I haven’t seen many a beret…
Lastly, when in doubt wear all white. I have seen a few chic women sporting such a look; French women must laugh in the face of sneaky stains.

Prints I bought as mementos

Street vendors selling beautiful art
However, shopping here is not for the faint of heart- or Euro. To satisfy my urge to spend I bought two amazing vintage style prints from a street vendor and a ‘Best Songs of Paris’ CD. Two mementos that will remind me of this city for a long time to come.

Catching up with a friend from home
Today we are making our trek up to Sacre Coeur for more beautiful views of the city as well as walking the famous Champs Elysees.
Next, to the US of A!
Til next time, Lauren x
